Who's with me?!?...

Two thumbs WAY up!!!
Sundays have got to be pretty much the best day of the week, I'm going to say hands down for that one, and two thumbs WAY up! It's funny, because whenever I think of that saying, "two thumbs WAY up," it reminds me of when I was younger and watched Disney's Hercules and Hades says that and his thumbs have flames (thus why I have a picture of that on this post haha). Sundays are so great, because there are so many blessings that God has set aside for us on that day.  Look back to the Creation, God made the earth, then on the 7th day He rested; how great is it that we too get to have that rest on the Sabbath (although as a Missionary, I still get to teach the gospel and everything on Sunday, hooray!!)...

Learning anything new lately?....

If you have a voice of thunder,
why not be Superman as well =)
By golly, I have been actually haha. Since I have been here on my mission, I have had the chance to pick up some ASL (American Sign Language).  It is way awesome; my missionary companion and I, Elder Edmons, are continuing to learn more, and starting on Sunday, are going to serve in a couple of deaf wards to get to work with a lot more members that way. Being here in this mission brings so many opportunities that otherwise would never be possible, and this is just another great blessing of being called to serve here.  If I could, I would learn every language I could, to be able to teach even more people about the gospel.  But seeing my English grades from school, I figured I should keep working on it, but with ASL, it's a whole new way of communicating, and uses the language I already know. "Oh that I were an angel, and could have the wish of mine heart, that I might go forth and speak with the trump of God, with a voice to shake the earth, and cry repentance unto every people! Yea, I would declare unto every soul, as with the voice of thunder, repentance and the plan of redemption, that they should repent and come unto our God, that there might not be more sorrow upon all the face of the earth." (Alma 29:1-2).

This is how I know...

Read the scriptures, and pray; that is how you can know
So as you probably already know, my whole mission is different than any others.  The prominent way that I find people to teach about the gospel, is through the chats coming from Mormon.org.  Now not every person that I talk to asks when the can get baptized and all the questions that would be that "golden" investigator; rather I get hundreds even thousands of those who also want to argue and bash, or try to prove something to me. And then there are the questions along the lines of "prove to me that God exists....."; I know beyond any shadow of a doubt (no matter how cliché that may sound, it is true!)...

Do you realize who you are?...

"Jalike our own spirit tell us inside, God's Spirit tell us we God's kids.  Cuz us guys God's kids, dat mean, we goin, get all da good kine stuff God going give his kids, cus he our Fadda.  Jalike da Fadda give everything he get to Christ, his Boy, an dass how he goin make to us guys, same time we give um to Christ.  Ony one ting: Us guys gotta suffa jalike Christ wen suffa, so den bumbye, God make us come awesome jalike he wen make Christ come awesome." (Romans 8:16-17, *Da Jesus Book).  "The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God." (verse 16, KJV) I want you to really grasp that, and think of right now, that you are a child of God!  There is a divine heritage within each and every one of us regardless of anything in our lives, we each are a son or daughter of our loving Father in Heaven.  Growing up in the church, that thought was something that was taught and instilled in me from a very young age, as before I could read or many other things, I knew the words to one of my favorite primary (children's group at church) songs entitled, 'I am a Child of God'.....

Of all the gifts of God.....

My family, about 4 years back. Me, Jerm and Russ are eagles
Next to the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ, there is a blessing that God has given us that is central to bringing us happiness in this life, and in the life to come; that is of family.  Families are the most central structure that God has given and placed us in here in life.  Families are a place where love can be found, where I have come to see a closeness no matter what we may be in, and a bond that extends further than words could scribe or tell.  I am so grateful for my family; and I have come to see more and more, as I have grown, how much of a blessing they truly are to me. "The family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.".....
